Well Situated Village Inn at Winston in delightful Teesdale, County Durham, it is only a few minutes walk to the outstanding landmark bridge over the river Tees, near to Barnard Castle, Staindrop, Gainford, Piercebridge, Whorlton and Ovington, only a few minutes more from Darlington, Richmond and Weardale. We have our own large car park, so easy and safe parking. Not far to travel for quality restaurant fare and  traditional pub food.

A Listed Historic Building, constructed in 1851 as the Winston Church of England School and was extensively  refurbished and finally reopened as a quality restaurant and pub by renowned chef Paul Grundy and his wife Kathryn in 2008.  Now into a h ighly successful fourth year they offer dining in the atmospheric restaurant or pub food in the comfortable lounge bar, complete with wonderful log fire and a great drink selection.  If you fancy eating out and you're staying in the Barnard Castle area of Teesdale, why not come and see for yourself? 

Our restaurant has a seating capacity of 37 and there the bar lounge has seating for 20. Have a look around our lovely building and find out more about us and opening times. In addition to our varied wine list we are building a reputation for excellent real ales in our pub, our regulars delighting in the flavours of Timothy Taylors Landlord and various Green King specials with the added bonus of seasonal guest beers throughout the year.  This year we were awarded the prestigious Cask Marque accreditation from Greene Kings head brewer.
